New Moon in Libra

Posted on October 11, 2007 in Happiness/Joy, Inspiration, Nature, Positive Psychology, Spirituality by Rebekita.

The Libran new moon is represented by the scales and reminds us to walk the middle path.  We need to find the balance between following our hearts and compromising to accommodate others. This is a time to create harmony in relationships both personal and professional.

All year we have been getting a clearer understanding of who we are and what our true purpose in life is.  This moon cycle we must find the way to fulfill our desires while working in cooperation and harmony with others.  Think before jumping to conclusions. Negotiate rather than attack or go on the defensive, and be diplomatic while standing firm with what you believe in. The Libran moon reminds us that we must listen more, trust more, and be more understanding to those around us, even when we disagree.

Libra also re-energises our lives and relationships.  We may experience a new sense of love and respect in our present relationship or, if single, we may find that we fall in love at first sight.  Enjoy this time as we take pleasure in working, interacting and playing with others in a supportive and loving environment.

When we work as a team we are so much more powerful.  Jesus said ‘Blessed are the meek for they will inherit the earth.’ Living in harmony with ourselves and others gives us a sense of self worth. We receive a deep feeling of peace that permeates throughout our being and into the Universe, touching all those around us as we become the change.

RITUAL FOR THE NEW MOON

This new moon is a time for creativity to flow and re-energize our relationships and dreams. In order to take full opportunity of this power we need to get in touch with what is holding us back.

Once we face the truth we become empowered to change it.  The dark moon allows us to find that quiet space within where we can remove our ‘mask’ and accept who we are with real honesty.

Sit in a quiet room – be patient and wait until you have completed all your tasks for the day and you are ready to give the time to yourself.  Light some candles and burn incense to create an ambient space. Sit in a comfortable position with your back straight.  Close your eyes and become aware of your body. Connect deeply and slowly with your toes, legs, thighs, torso, arms, neck, face and then crown.  Exhale all your stresses and release all your frustrations, just breathe them right out of your body. Repeat this process three times.

Take a piece of paper or your journal and write down these questions:

How do I create a more harmonious life?

How do I create more harmony in my relationships?

How do I create more balance in my life?

How do I create more joy in my life?

How do I create more abundance in my life?

How do I unlock doors that are keeping me stuck in the past?

How do I release the fear and follow my heart?

Allow the questions to permeate into your being and ask the Universe for help and guidance. Gradually, as the moon waxes to full, it will bring you the answers in many different forms so that you can make the changes to move forward in your life with confidence.

Tips on How to Make Important Decisions

Posted on October 5, 2007 in Happiness/Joy, Inspiration, Positive Psychology, Self-Help by Rebekita.

Wow – it was a powerful full moon in Aries. Myself and friends around me seem to be facing many challenges and big changes as the moon energy of new beginnings is manifesting on the physical level.

Decisions need to be made at this time and sometimes when we cannot see exactly where we are going it is challenging to know if we are making the right ones.

If you are one of those people that need to make a decision here are some tips to help you clarify what is important:

1. The most important thing is to find some quiet time to just stop and be with yourself. It is very difficult to get clear when there is external stuff going on. You are important so make the time – you’re worth it.

2. The key to getting clear on issues is to be clear on what you want to achieve. What is your intention and ultimate goal?

3. Ask yourself where you want to be in two years time/five years time. Don’t hold back. It can be difficult to accept who we truly our and how powerful we can be.

4. Really acknowledge the greatest vision of yourself – even though you may seem further away from it than ever

5. Use automatic writing techniques to discern your inner voice from your fear.

6. When you are faced with two directions, go with the one that FEELS right, even if it’s the most irrational choice. We cannot always see the bigger picture so TRUST yourself and your inner knowing.

7. Have Faith that your intention will be manifested, however impossible the situation may seem to be.

8. Be true to who you are, despite resistance from others. Only when we are happy with ourselves and our lives can we spread happiness to others.

9. Share your decisions with those whose feedback you honour and respect. They may say something that brings clarity to your situation.

10. If you really don’t know flip a coin. You’ll know whether the coin is right or wrong. It works every time….

Let me know if you have any other tips to add…

Synchronistic Chaos Part 3 – Manifesting Our Intentions

Posted on October 3, 2007 in Inspiration, Positive Psychology, Self-Help, Shamanism, Spirituality by Rebekita.

I wrote a question on 22nd July in my blog Synchronistic Chaos part 2:

How can I know which of my intentions will become reality, in a certain timeframe and which will not, believing that all intentions are fulfilled but not necessarily when we would like them to be?”

I am beginning to understand the answer…..

Recently, circumstances have changed and we need to move to a bigger property in London. At this moment we do not have the financial resources to even consider moving, especially as prices in London are so inflated. So we have decided to do some manifesting and have put out intention for our dream house. Every night we spend some time just pouring energy into the intention and imagining ourselves living there.

However, despite all the intentioning and visualization, there was a part of me that was not fully feeling it. There was some hidden fear of change and what it will mean to leave my safe studio flat that I know and love and start a brand new home!!! Yet the desire to move on is so great that I am locked in a battle of wills – my fear vs my love.

In the last two days I have been getting in touch with this fear. What am I afraid of? Because that is what is stopping me from manifesting everything and anything I want. That is why intentions can manifest in an instant – or take time to manifest. It all depends on the fear that is blocking the way forward.

I know now it has very little to do with whether I am a good person or not an important belief to dissolve, as this belief has been my underlying thought form for most of my life. Things manifest because we have an intention, whether we are aware of it or not. It is one of the fundamental Laws of Nature.

So here I am in this moment, aware and conscious of my fear, and willing to move through it in order to create my dreams. ‘Is this the Truth?’ I hear my fear cry!!! In my heart I know it is because I manifested Don Juanito and learnt from him and the ayahuasca in the Amazon.

There is no easy way to go through the fear. The key is to change the way we think about ourselves. So at every moment I am seeing myself in a different light, and in seeing myself differently I can change the way I feel about myself. This process is timeless, it can take a minute, an hour, a day, a week, a month, a year, a decade, a lifetime. But once we change the way we feel about ourselves the external world begins to reflect our shift in consciousness.

This is true freedom, this is true empowerment ….

Myanmar (Burma) – a Message of Hope and Inspiration

Posted on September 30, 2007 in Community, Inspiration by Rebekita.

It is no coincidence that Buddhist monks decided to start protesting against the military regime in Myanmar (Burma) around the Full moon in Aries. This Aries moon represented new beginnings and a time to let go of the past. The energy on the planet is urging us to completely trust and have faith in ourselves and our dreams, (email me to subscribe to my lunascope newsletter for more information on the full/new moon at rebekah@rebekahshaman.com). It is time to step into our power and take the risks we need to bring us closer to our goals.

The Monks in Myanmar are doing just that. Despite the threat of pain and death they are uniting in their need for freedom from an oppressive regime. Instead of feeling horrified by what is happening we can see it as an inspiration and hope. There is a greater message in what is happening and we cannot lose it with our concern about what is happening.

It reflects how the macrocosm is mirrored in the microcosm. Just as the Monks and innocent protesters stand up to the oppression and face their challenges head on, believing in the dream regardless of the consequences, we too must find the courage to face our own demons and challenges and do what is needed in order to find our personal freedom.

We are all creating our reality, and we all have the power to change what is happening to us. This moon urges us to stop hiding behind our own limiting, controlling beliefs and thought forms and know deep in our hearts that we can change it, even when the obstacles are stacked against us.

This uprising is also reminding us that we are more powerful when we stand united as one voice and work together as a team with a vision for the greater good. The protesters are using non-violent demonstrations to tell the world that they no longer accept the present situation and that it is time for change.

No matter the outcome, their poignant message and strength of spirit is spreading throughout the world and showing all of us that we too must stand up for what we believe in, no matter what others may think or do.

So take that leap into the unknown and trust that you are protected, supported and loved. Only when we follow the calling of our hearts and make the first courageous steps towards creating our dreams can we really begin to change our world and the world around us…

Full Moon in Aries

Posted on September 26, 2007 in Inspiration, Shamanism by Rebekita.

Today is the Full moon in Aries. If you would like to know more about this moon cycle please email me at rebekah@rebekahshaman.com and I will send you my monthly lunascope newsletter that describes in detail the meaning behind this moon and how we can access the energy.

In brief the Aries full moon is all about new beginnings. It gives us the opportunity to let go of past failures, losses and disappointments and move forward with new energy. There is no easy way of doing this except to step into the fear with renewed faith and trust that the Universe is protecting and supporting us. It is symbolised by the Fool in the tarot. The fool follows the path of the heart, regardless of where it leads him or her, understanding that they is being guided and knowing everything is happening perfectly.

Tonight my mother invited me and my partner, my sister and her partner and my brother to see Fiddler on the Roof. The story centers on Tevye, the father of five daughters, and his attempts to maintain his family and religious traditions while the world and civilization around him change rapidly. He must cope with both the strong-willed actions of his three older daughters — each daughter’s choice of husband moves progressively further and further away from established custom — and with the edict of the Tsar that upends the Jewish community in the village. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiddler_on_the_Roof

It was a poignant play to see on this full moon night. The theme centers around traditions and customs that keep us tied to an old paradigm. In the modern world we have replaced religious traditions and customs with self-serving systems and structures, to the detriment of our social, economic and environmental well-being. We consume and pollute the planet, as if there will be no price to pay. Tevye can be likened to our politicians and those in power who are trying to control our environment, and we, as his daughters, beginning to rebel against the authority that is no longer serving us or the planet.

While we hold on desperately to a way of life that feeds the illusion we are safe and protected, the world is changing rapidly. This summer alone an area five times the size of the United Kingdom melted in the artic enabling ships to sail down the Northwest passage, previously inaccessible. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/7006640.stm Some have suggested we are on a death spiral as global warming increases beyond original predictions and the effects will be more rapid than was previously expected.

Like Tevye and his community, we are tempted to bury our heads in the sand, convincing ourselves that we will not be affected by the changes creeping inexorably into our lives and hoping that they will only affect those close to the eye of the storm. If we don’t wake up soon we will reach a similar ending as Fiddler on the Roof with the whole village finally being evicted by the Tsar during the progroms of the early twentieth Century.

This is a time when we have to face the self-interest of the Aries moon with the self-sacrifice of Libra, the new moon in two weeks. The Aries moon reflects our independence and impulsive nature. We are being guided on our paths and the need to fulfil our joy is strong. Yet we have a conflict between the ‘me, me, me’ aspect of our selves and the acceptance that we are part of a whole.

Ultimately, we are all responsible for what is happening on our planet. Many of us are here to assist with the essential changes. This is a time to wake up and realize you can become powerful in altering our world for the better. When we become self aware beings, a consciousness in a quantum field of consciousness, our potential is unlimited. When you make a decision to be part of the solution you become the change you want to see in the world. Wait for no-one, because others will follow you when you step into your power…

Kol Nidre – Letting go of Limiting Beliefs

Posted on September 21, 2007 in Inspiration by Rebekita.

Tonight is Kol Nidre – the night when Jews worldwide begin a twenty-five hour fast of no food and water to spend their time in prayer and meditation. It is the ‘Day of Atonement’ when we ask for forgiveness for our sins and the sins of our ancestors.

I decided in 2001 that synagogue was not the place for real contemplation and meditation, as we are constantly reminded of the sufferings we have experienced as Jews. The feeling of fear and guilt pervades the air and there is a sense of shame – that we have done wrong and therefore deserve punishment. This programme is set at a very young age and it has taken me many years to let go of this belief system. Now I spend this day on Hampstead Heath, and meeting up with old friends. Being in nature, surrounded by Mother Earth and friends, is my meditation and contemplation.

Tonight, while my family were at synagogue, I attended a 5 Rhythms dance workshop entitled Inner Sense with Alain Allard. It was held in a huge church in Vauxhall, London, a magical place full of energy and the perfect place to be on such a night. Instead of atoning for my sins I decided to celebrate and honour who I am.

Most of the time I have my inner critic going on at me, telling me I am not good enough. Tonight I wanted to acknowledge myself and all my achievements. As we move into a new paradigm of self-love and acceptance, the self-flagellation and repentance dissolves.

I feel I have atoned enough for the sins of my ancestors, and suffered enough for their mistakes. I know that I am no longer bound by their karma and can do things differently. I have chosen to walk another path. For the first time I also decided not to fast. This has been a powerful decision to make. In the past I used to believe that if I did not fast I would be punished in some way. I have been controlled by this fear for most of my life. Tonight I broke through the barrier of fear by letting go of the belief.

Only by letting go of our limiting belief systems and stepping through the fear can we become more able to listen to our hearts. There is no easy way to step through the fear. It takes courage and trust to fall into the unknown, as it’s painful to let go of something that has been a part of ourselves since birth. But once we take the leap and become free the path of real happiness opens up.

As we celebrate the Autumn Equinox this weekend and prepare for the full moon on Wednesday 26th September this is the time for New Beginnings. Check out my next blogs for more info on these auspicious days.

Ghandi said ‘Be the Change you Want to See in the World.’ This is the time to follow your heart, your inner knowing, and trust yourself by leaping into the unknown and allow the magic of this mysterious place to lead you to true happiness.

Love and hugs

Ritual for New Moon in Virgo

Posted on September 11, 2007 in Inspiration, Shamanism by Rebekita.

This new moon is a time for meditation and contemplation on what practical steps are needed to fulfill your dreams.

Sit in a quiet room – be patient and wait until you have completed all your tasks for the day and you are ready to give the time to yourself.  Light some incense, sit in a comfortable position with your back straight.  Close your eyes and become aware of your body. Connect deeply and slowly with your toes, legs, thighs, torso, arms, neck, face and then crown.  Exhale all your stresses and release all your frustrations, just breathe them right out your body. Repeat this process three times.

Now set your intention. What would you like to understand about your situation in work, health or relationships.  Once you are clear on what you would like to know slip into the dreamtime and just allow your thoughts to wonder. Don’t try to control your mind but relax into it.  The more you let go the more the heart can speak to you.  Don’t be afraid of the messages.  Your higher self is seeing all situations from the eagle’s perspective, not from our limited three dimensional vision and knows what is best for you.  All you have to do is be open what is being shown.

Take a walk in the woods, or somewhere natural, and smell the fresh smells of autumn.  Jump in the air and enjoy this moment of balance.  Take the time to acknowledge all of who you are, the light and the dark; the young and the old; the female and the male; the conscious and unconscious and to be thankful for your life exactly as it is.

ABC’s – Want it more than anything

Posted on August 31, 2007 in Happiness/Joy, Inspiration, Positive Psychology, Self-Help, Spirituality, Struggle by Kim.

ABC’s – Want it more than anything

This goes right in line with the last two blogs – understanding yourself (and your wants), visualizations (taking the time to see and “build that big picture” of what the want is…. and then…. constructing the WANT statement and removing or getting the information you need in order to do it.

To clarify how to know that you want is “pure” the old saying stands, when you construct your want statement there should be “No ifs, ands or buts”. This is kind of an exercise of removing any road blocks or red tape. Staging the “environment” so it is conducive to the receiving of the want.

Now this is not to say that these words would not be applicable depending. Just be aware, if you do have one of the ifs, ands, or buts in your want statement, be aware that they will affect the outcome of the want.

Example -

* I want to win the Lottery to pay for school, but if I don’t I can get a student loan.

Don’t or the word not, will always take the item away. The “lack of” is what you are attracting.
And, you just stated that “I can do it this other way”.
So really, you don’t “need” it or expect you will get it.

* I want to win the Lottery to pay for school, if no one else needs it more because I can get by.

You selfless, generous person you. Of course someone else needs it more.

* I want to win the Lottery to pay for school and I will by my mom a car.

You are generous and you have now promised to do more with it.
But now you are down a path that you now have to commit to what you
are going to do with all the money before the want is met.
Are you feeling a little guilty about winning?

* I want to win the Lottery for pay for school and I want to win today.

Good for you. How is that going to happen? Will it be mailed to you?
Will someone be buying that for you just on a whim? You still need to take action.

This is the strength statement:

* This is the winning ticket.

So you now have the winning ticket in your hand before the draw.
Do you really believe this? Or are any of those ifs, ands, or buts,
from above still in your head?

All the action has been completed (ticket was actually purchased before draw) :) (kind of import part there). The “ifs, ands, or buts” are removed and the want is pure.

Wow…. that was fun. Hee hee hee. I also have another blog started on how I got to this realization. This has been a great day.

Have a blessed day. And here is to all your wants.

Kim

ABC’s – Visualize it

ABC’s – Visualize it

You know, I struggled with this one through the years. My Sports Coaches would say it, my Professors would say it, my counselor, my boss…. but I still didn’t quite get to the “goal”. So I thought. :) I had, however, started an internal dialog that said “I don’t know how to do that”. I was also incorrect there.

Through the last few months I have found that I did know how to visualize and I was quite good at it. The truth was, though I didn’t reach the goal that my coaches, parents, teachers, bosses, etc had wanted (or visualized) for me, I had reached mine. I enjoy sports, but my want was not to be a sports star, my want was to study sports and understand how to “coach”. And, I was successful. I also enjoy learning, and though I didn’t “complete college” what I really wanted was to understand what was needed to transition from high school to college. And, I was successful. And I can do this for each of the places in my life that I had originally marked down as “unsuccessful” previously.

See, what I had found was though I didn’t not reach the end result that others would have wanted, I had reached the end result for me. I wanted knowledge on “how” things were done. This included and most importantly “parenting”. And I can now with full honesty to myself… I am successful. (I will safe more on that for a later blog.)

What ever means works for you, from what ever source that is safe for you… I recommend taking time to fully understand what “visualization” is. And how it works for you. This includes all the senses and emotions that come with it. When you do, you can dramatically effect change in your life and get to your wants with amazing precision and speed.

Have a most blessed day!

Kim

ABC’s – Understand yourself in order to better understand others

ABC’s – Understand yourself in order to better understand others

Really? I think and believe that this statement can go in both directions. “Understand others in order to better understand yourself”. Though, the second can make the process a lot longer. But does work. :)

This one was a little tough for me at first. I SO understood others…. I was the one that was “different”. And I know several people that understood themselves very well, but thought everyone else was confused. :)

Either way that you come to this one, it still works. I initially got really good at looking at myself (and healing) by learning about how my kids are. The uniqueness of each of them and the similarities in development cycles.

I think it should also be noted, that the best way to get to know your preferences and understand yourself is to REALLY pay attention to “why” you feel a certain way when you experience something. Note your initial reaction and when you have time, sit down quietly with yourself or a close confidant and ask yourself “Why do I feel that way?” and “What does that mean to me?”. Then when you have those answers, you can ask yourself “What do I want to do about that?” Then, before actually “taking action”, ask yourself “How would my action make me feel?” and “Will I respect myself for taking that action?”.

I have found through my journey over the past few months that when I take time to do this type of exercise at minimum once a day, I can and have invoked massive change in my life in a relatively short amount of time. And days that I feel “undone” most of the day, I slow down, ask myself the questions (or similar) through each step of the day… and by the end of the day, I have completed a multitude of things, my strength is intact and I feel good about my whole day! And then rest is so much more pleasant and I am not carrying things over to the next day (residual negativity).

Throughout my life, I felt I didn’t “know” myself. And I really enjoyed doing for others. Though, for many years and at different times, I felt and thought that it was my “job” to be there and help others. Well that didn’t “feel good”, but when I asked myself if I gave up doing for others, how would I feel. Well, I would have felt “worse”… so I continued on doing for others. What I found though, is as I helped others, I was actually getting to know me more. Understanding myself more. I had the desire to be there, providing support and doing for others, but I just didn’t understand why. Through doing what “felt” right to me, I learned and started to understand myself through understanding others.

What ever direction you take to finding or understanding self (and this is respectful understand of, not “beating yourself up” stuff) :) take the time to do it. Ask yourself the questions that you would if you were helping someone else. And remember that you deserve respectful communication and support….. even from yourself. :)

I can truly attest to the fact, that once you find your “center” your ability to create and manifest change is dramatically increased and you can do amazing things is a matter of moments.

Have a blessed day!

Kim
