Send a Note to the Future

Posted on April 4, 2008 in Inspiration by Michael.

Flo reminded me of a website that I had completely forgotten about. Futureme.org is a unique website with a singular purpose. You can type a letter or email to yourself and have it sent to you sometime in the future on a date you specify.

You probably remember doing something similar in high school. Everyone had to write a letter to themselves and seal it for a period of time, one to several years in the future. This is the high tech version of that exercise. The site has become wildly popular. The founders have compiled a book with the best of the public/anonymous posts. (Note: You have the ability to make your post public/anonymous when you write it.)

I think this is a great way to send yourself a note of encouragement. You can record the details of specific events so you won’t forget. Flo stated that she at least got a good laugh from reading emails to herself from April 2007.

Check it out. Send yourself a future email today.

Michael
