Explore, Dream, Discover

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. – Mark Twain

I really love this quote. I’ve felt very strongly for many years that I do not want to have any questions unanswered when I get older. In other words, I don’t want to be asking myself “What if I had done this or that?” I would much rather have answers, either yes or no. It doesn’t matter because it means I took the chance, the risk to do something I wanted to do.

I don’t want to have any regrets. Trying something new and having it not working out is fine by me. It’s the trying part that is the important ingredient to living life to its fullest. Some things will work out and others will not. But even with the things that don’t work out, you will become more clear on what you want to do. You may also get new ideas of things to try.

My curiosity about the world is intense. I’m constantly wondering what’s around the next bend. What would happen if I go down this road, both literally and figuratively? I’m always interested in learning something new, exploring places I’ve never been, looking with new perspectives on places I’ve already seen, looking to expand my understanding of myself and ultimately extracting as much fun as possible out of every moment.

I wasn’t always this way. I started by taking one small step at a time into the unknown. My world expanded and so did my level of happiness.

It’s never too late to start. How about right now?

Have a great day!

Michael
