When you look at your life, the greatest happinesses are family happinesses. – Joyce Brothers

Families are like fudge – mostly sweet with a few nuts. – Author Unknown

Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family.  Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one. – Jane Howard

Our most basic instinct is not for survival but for family.  Most of us would give our own life for the survival of a family member, yet we lead our daily life too often as if we take our family for granted. – Paul Pearshall

I’m in Austin, TX this weekend specifically to see my gifted niece perform in a dance recital. I’ve missed the last two or three performances and I didn’t want to miss another.

My niece is 16 and has been dancing since about the time she could walk. Dancing has been a consistent dream of hers and she clearly enjoys it. Plus she is quite good. I’m always surprised by her ability and try to imagine what she will be able to do when she is 20. I’m convinced it will be extraordinary.

I enjoy getting together with my family. We are a close group even though we live in many different cities and consequently don’t get together that often.

I do know one thing though. If I’m ever in dire need of someone to help me, I have a bunch of people that would drop what they are doing to give me hand. I would do the same.

In that, I feel blessed.

Have a great day!

Michael
