2008 New Year Promises
Last year I wrote about my promises for 2007. I liked the concept of promises instead of New Year’s resolutions or goals. 2007 was the first year that I kept all of them. I believe that it was because I had promised myself and not simply made resolutions. I found that it was much more difficult to break a promise to myself than other ways of implementing change.
So, in the spirit of January 1, 2007, here are several of my promises for 2008:
- I promise to continue making decisions based on how much fun I will have. (repeat of 2007)
- I promise to meditate at least 5 times per week.
- I promise to exercise at least 4 times per week.
- I promise to improve my photographic skills by regular self-study, attending one professional class and taking at least as many photographs as last year.
- I promise to continue writing this daily blog.
- I promise to play guitar at least 5 times per week.
I’ll continually evaluate (in a non judgmental way) my “progress” over the year. I’ll make changes as I see fit since my desires, goals and aspirations are continually up for change.
What are your promises for this year? I hear it’s going to be a great one!
