14,000 Things to Be Happy About

Posted on March 2, 2008 in Happiness/Joy, Inspiration by Michael.

14,000 Things to Be Happy About is a great book by Barbara Ann Kipfer. (Note: see a link on the right if you are interested in this book.) For 40 years, starting in the sixth grade, Barbara recorded what made her smile. Her book is a culmination of those years.

If you are having a tough day and can’t find anything to be happy about, pull this book out. I bet you will find something in there to make you smile, be thankful for or just plain happy.

I found the following things in about 3 minutes that I liked:

  • Cut flowers
  • Leaf patterns
  • When you think you are a kid again
  • Air-conditioning
  • Meaningful and telling winks
  • Coffee
  • The smell of the sea
  • Garlic bread
  • A child’s wisdom
  • Smoked almonds
  • African violets
  • Hearing “your song”
  • Ferns
  • Saran wrap that cooperates
  • Raisin bread
  • Campfire wood

How many can you find? Enjoy!

Michael
